FDIC 2019 - First Due Engine at Mass Casualty Incidents #FDIC2019

I am humbled to once again have the opportunity to teach Engine Company MCI at FDIC.

I've been updating the content of this program for three years trying to bring you the most up to date concepts, practices and innovations in how to maximize your Engine's abilities at an MCI.

This isn't your typical MCI class full of vests, tarps and table tops.  We aren't going to get deep in the weeds on setting up Logistics or ensuring the PIO has a place to give a press conference.

We are going to talk about the first in Engine and how most of the tools you need to be successful at an MCI are already in place and you're using them everyday.  We have a script for initial reporting of fires, right?  I'll show you the elements that change for an MCI.  We'll estimate number of victims, determine if an evacuation is orderly or an emerging situation as well as talk about some of the MCIs that made the news in recent years and how simple concepts can turn into smooth operations later.

Triage and Treatment of Immediate patients is our goal and you've got the best tool in the world to make a first impact on the scene:

The Engine Company

So mark your schedules, Thursday, April 11th, 1330 HRS and we'll watch some Little Rascals be Firemen, talk about target MCIs in your area, count some Skittles and have some fun!

Not registered for FDIC yet?  Use this link!  Your Department may even reimburse you...provided you attend class, not just wander the show floor.  Amazing classes await at FDIC 2019!  SEE YOU THERE!
