A conference room somewhere really cool, key note speaker, maybe even a meet and great.
Turns out we weren't he internet sensations we thought we were. Not enough makeup and cheating to get kids into college. Anyhoo...
My good friend Mark Glencorse is on the drive back to San Francisco from my place after our first palaver in close to 10 years. He was in town for a non EMS conference and how could we not see each other?!
Trouble is...what do you talk about after a decade? He's moved on and I'm still spinning my wheels in EMS.
It turns out...lots.
Good friend of the blog, and EMS Chief at the time we filmed CoEMS, Seb Wong volunteered to drive Mark out to our place for a chili feast. It was like stepping into 2009. Even still have the iphone we used back then as our home phone now...long story.
Mark is well, the family is well and we quickly fell back into our old manner of conversation, almost as if not a day had passed.
We're older now, more than just a hint of gray, but those memories of the fall of 2009 were so fresh, so real...we even watched them on video. Motorcop and his wife, as well as mine of course were in attendance for the meetup and we watched parts of the random videos created back then of a brown haired me and a green jump suited Mark and we laughed.
So much has happened between us since CoEMS...but so much hasn't changed...
