TN DA unclear on fentanyl and a reminder on glove removal

This is getting laughable and is actually getting people hurt.

Recently folks have been quick to the SHARE button on stories about their perceived dangers of fentanyl.  However, if you click through to the actual story, the giggles begin.  Case in point, a recently shared story from noted news source GreenRushDaily.com about fentanyl laced joints.

In the story they speak to Tennessee DA Matthew Stowe who said the following:

“Marijuana laced with fentanyl can be extremely deadly to anyone who touches it, tastes it, smokes it anything else of that nature,” Stowe said. “If it’s laced with fentanyl, marijuana can be the deadliest drug there is.”

Extremely deadly to anyone who touches it...

I can't trust anything you say from that point on.

Is fentanyl dangerous when introduced to the blood stream?  It can be, but perhaps he is only listening to Officers who are getting bad information from facebook links and not the CDC and FBI.

Treat fentanyl like hot sauce.  If you get it on you, wipe it off.  Don't rub your eyes, don't wipe your lips, don't pick your nose, don't touch your shirt pen, don't touch anything.  Safely remove your nitrile gloves.

Wash your hands.

Watching these videos of Officers rolling on the ground after seeing white powder and demanding narcan is only bolstering narcan sales.  People who need narcan can't ask for it.

And here's another issue I have, gang, the story I linked above is being shared with an image of a haz mat drill with responders in level B gear, reinforcing the false belief that fentanyl is airborne and can kill on contact but somehow has had no effect on the people sitting in the car they stopped.

Anyone wishing to know wow many of these "exposures" can be prevented, here's a reminder on how to take your gloves off.
